This website was created to promote the Opera Shorts Opera company. Commissioned in 2008 by a group of Edinburgh University Music Students its intention as an organisation was to promote opera without the length of grand opera but maintaining the dramatic depth, quality and showmanship of traditional operas. To this end the website was created to reflect this ideal; to be clean and crisp whilst staying relevent.

This website was created to adhere to XHTML Strict 1.0 and CSS 2.0 standards. It was designed to be cross-browser and multi- platform compliant to be viewed well on all systems and configurations. This is to maintain the idea of the net as a free access medium, everybody has the right to view the web in whatever browser or Operating System they prefer and thus this website was built as such.

With this in mind however the suggested platform is Firefox. This is because Firefox conventionally complies to CSS standards better than Internet Explorer and shares a similar proportion of users - though its use in either is much the same.
